My inner thoughts and musings to be preserved for myself and anyone who cares to read them

0. Before I Start

I’ve decided to start a blog to record the myriad of thoughts that race through my head (and have often prevented a good nights rest).

No Time To Spare, a collection of Ursula K. Le Guin’s blog posts is what has inspired me to write my own. Not being a prolific writer myself, I can only hope one day to write something a fraction as lucid and insightful. The great thing about her writing is it’s beautiful simplicity makes you want to write something yourself (I cannot recommend anything she has ever written enough).

I expect that if I do keep it up, this blog will be an eclectic collection of inner musings, attempts at creative writing, and reflections on my life. I have no goals, besides to write and record whatever I am passionate about, and of course to have fun. I don’t expect to gain many readers (if any besides close friends or my siblings), but of course I’m doing this for personal satisfaction and any sort of readership would be a much appreciated bonus.

My experience in writing is limited to school papers, online cryptic posting, and working on comics and graphic novels. Being a visual artist, I never thought too hard about the written word, besides enjoying a good book or reviewing fellow classmate’s poorly written essays, before I started to write my (yet to be completed) graphic novel Morpho. Once I was writing myself, I started to notice and appreciate the art of it. The joy I felt scratching ink into paper, mixing watercolors, or even drawing digitally on my tablet, was the same I was experiencing in my fledgling attempt to craft a story. I may never do more than write for the comics I hope to make, and now this blog, but I can claim the title of writer.

Well enough preamble, time to start in earnest.
